this trojan: Win32/Small.CA caused all internet access to not respond on my computer it is a hidden file it hides in system 32

this virus is not allowing many programs to run or display on screen

I've been having lots of trouble removing various variations of the Trojan Horse Generic 10 virus and previously had Microsoft reporting that I had a problem with Win32/Small.Ca. I have AVG 8.0.138 and have scanned the computer multiple times and it periodically finds the virus but can't delete it or does not find it at all. I have ran Ad-Aware and Spybot and they both confirm that there is no spyware on the computer which is very strange.

I noticed that the Trojan tends to pop up when I open Internet Explorer and the million pop-ups start coming through. I went to the Temporary Internet Files and added in \Content.IE5 to delete the remaining files but the computer wouldn't let me delete them. My computer then shut down itself when I tried to view the files and I had to run it in Safe Mode and delete a startup item with Spybot that detected it was malicious. This might be a jumble of information and my computer is running fine for now but I'm afraid the Trojan is just going to pop up sooner or later.
